"Doing this interview with our beloved Kate Jackson was more than a dream come
true... After so many years of hard work this site seems to have gotten a
recognition. Kate Jackson herself accepted to give an exclusive interview to the
site and to her fans!!! This interview was made with the help of the Internet.
Via e mail... Don't want to tire you with my prologues... Read what Kate
Jackson has to
say..."
Q. Hello dear Kate. Its an honor doing this interview with you. Please let us
know, what are your feelings about the Internet and how often do you use it. Do
you use it on a daily basis?
Kate Jackson:
I use it frequently and find it to be a wonderful source of information, as well
as a great way to keep in touch with friends far away or who are traveling. And
yes, I do use it on a daily basis....
Q. Have you ever chatted online with your fans?
Kate Jackson: I have chatted online with fans who didn't know it was me, but I use a special
"name" for privacy's sake. I don't often do it, though, usually I say who I am
(not that I'm always believed!!)
Q. Do you visit sites that are dedicated to you and your projects (for example
the Scarecrow and Mrs. King sites are countless) and do you read the postings
that fans have posted so you keep in touch with what fans think and feel?
Kate Jackson:
I do try to visit sites that fans have made for me and read postings to see what
people are thinking. I'm going to try to do it more often...
Q. Scarecrow and Mrs. King is on TV again and its again a big success, gaining
still a new breed of fans. How do you feel about that. Any chance for a reunion
movie?
Kate Jackson:
I'm thrilled that new people are being introduced to "Scarecrow and Mrs. King"
and that it is so popular. I do hope we can get a reunion movie put together!!
Q. Tell us some things about your last film "A Mother's Testimony". Where was it
filmed and how was the experience. Any clues when it will air in USA?
Kate Jackson:
"A Mother's Testimony" was filmed in and around Los Angeles on a very tight 3
week schedule. It was a wonderful experience with a terrific director and cast
and crew. It will air on Lifetime in the US, but I don't know the date. I
haven't even seen it yet!!
Q. How was your experience of the "Ally McBeal" show.
Kate Jackson: Ally McBeal was a tough shoot, but a good experience. I enjoyed it very much.
Q. We all know that Katharine Hepburn was your favorite actress. Have you ever
met her in person?
Kate Jackson:
No, I have never met Katharine Hepburn, but I still think she is the most
wonderful, interesting actress who has ever graced the screen.
Q. Did you ever had any second thoughts about leaving Charlie's Angels and what
was your favorite time of the Angels period.
Kate Jackson:
I never had any second thought about leaving "Charlie's Angels". I felt I had
served it well, and it had served me well, and it was the right time to go. The
first year was the most fun!! It was really exciting...
Q. What makes you say "yes" to a script?
Kate Jackson: I say "yes" to a script based upon the overall quality, the character, or
sometimes the director. The director on "A Mother's Testimony" was wonderful!!
Q. Do you have a favorite series character that you have played and is there any
project you wish you hadn't done?
Kate Jackson:
I like all the characters I've played in the series I've done. They all have a
piece of me in them. As far as wishing I hadn't done something, I must say, I
wish I'd skipped "Satan's School for Girls"!!!! Aaron Spelling asked me to do it
as a personal favor...
Q. What is your fondest memory of the "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" series.
Kate Jackson:
My fondest memories of the "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" period were the ones we did
in Europe. It was so exciting to be working and traveling to places I'd never
been before.
Q. Please let me know what you feel about the following projects of yours.
"Limbo"... A long time ago. I was so young. It's hard to really say...
"Night of Dark Shadows"... A hoot!! Fun working with my "Dark Shadows"
friends...
"Listen to Your Heart"... I really liked that one. Tim Matheson was great to
work with, we shot in Chicago, a city I like, and I liked the script.
"Making Love"... A movie made, I think, before its' time, but an honest effort
by people who really cared about what the movie meant...
"Baby Boom"... I'd better not say how difficult it was to do!! It should have
been a lot better, and it could have been...
"Adrift"... A GREAT shoot in New Zealand, difficult but wonderful, out on the
ocean all day, a great group of people to work with!! I made some good friends
in New Zealand on that one.
"Twice in a Lifetime". It was fun. I enjoyed it.
"A Mother's Testimony". As I said, a great experience.
Q. In which ways you think you have changed as a person since the 70s and the
80s.
Kate Jackson:
You ask how I've changed since the 70s and 80s as a person...I've grown in many
ways, I've learned to be more patient, that nothing is perfect, and that life is
about a lot more than just work. Being the mother of my son is the greatest
thing that has ever happened to me.
Q. We know you were recently in Alabama. Do you visit often your homeland and
how was the experience of the luncheon?
Kate Jackson:
I was recently in Alabama, speaking at a luncheon. I don't get back there very
often, though. The Alabama speech was a great success!! I think I'll be doing
more speaking...I really enjoy it and it's great to meet some of the people who
have been so loyal and supportive for such a long time.
Q. You love directing. Do you have any plans of directing again?
Kate Jackson:
I will direct again, I love doing it, and as soon as the right project comes
along, I'll jump on board.
Q. I understand you are also a photographer. What style of photography do you
enjoy the most: Black and White or Color? Abstract, Nature, Action, The Human
Element, Photojournalism, or just what ever captures your heart in the moment?
Kate Jackson:
Yes, I love to take pictures. I like to shoot black and white, then work on the
negatives to make prints in my lab. I especially like to take pictures of
children.
Q. How was the "Dark Shadows" Cast Reunion experience.
Kate Jackson:
The "Dark Shadows" reunion was a big success! We all had a lot of fun, and we
had a great crowd.
Q. Have you ever been in Greece?
Kate Jackson:
No, I have never been to Greece. Yet.
Q. What is your full name?
Kate Jackson:
Kate is my full name. I am named after my Grandmother.
Here is a message from Kate Jackson to all her fans...
"Thank you so much for all the things you do for me! Please let the fans know
how much their loyalty and support means to me, and that I do not take them for
granted for a minute!! It is an honor to have people like you care about me, and
I am deeply grateful."
Love, Kate Jackson |
